This dog ice cream recipe is designed just for your furry friends, using healthy ingredients like bananas, peanut butter, and yogurt. You can even add in a handful of bacon bits for an extra treat!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 bananas
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter be sure it does not contain xylitol
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon bits optional

Instructions
 

  • Remove the bananas from the peel and cut into 1-inch slices. Place on a baking sheet and freeze until solid, about 1 hour.
  • Add the frozen banana chunks, creamy peanut butter, and plain yogurt to a food processor.
  • Blend until smooth, about 2-3 minutes. 
  • Place the mixture in a bowl and stir together with the cooked bacon bits, if using.
  • Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or ice cube trays.
  • Freeze for at least 2 hours before removing from the mold and serving.

Notes

  • Make these dog ice cream treats in a cute silicone dog treat mold, an ice cube tray, or freeze the blended mixture in a loaf pan, and serve it by scooping it into a paper cup for your dog.
  • Check the ingredients of the peanut butter and yogurt to be sure that it isn't sweetened with xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Plain yogurt that has no additives or sugar is best.
