The number of ice cream sandwiches you will need will depend on the size of your sandwiches. Mine were 1.5” x 5” rectangles, so I ended up using 15 of them. If your ice cream sandwiches are square or circle, you may need more or less. Cut the ice cream sandwiches as needed to fill in the spaces of your baking dish.

If you are gluten-free, you can use gluten-free Oreos in this recipe and gluten-free ice cream sandwiches.
You can use a store-bought frozen whipped topping, such as Cool Whip, in this recipe or homemade whipped cream. I used Cool Whip to keep this ice cream sandwich cake super easy.
This recipe makes 9 large square pieces, but you can cut them smaller and get more servings out of it easily as the cake is quite rich.
