This is a traditional, or French-style, ice cream which is made with a custard base that contains eggs.
If you wanted to add some chocolate to this recipe, I’d recommend adding ½ cup of dark chocolate chunks during the final two minutes of churn. Raspberries and dark chocolate are such a great flavor combination!
If you have frozen raspberries, you can use them in this recipe. Just let them thaw and then blend in the food processor.
It’s okay if you leave behind some chunks or seeds when you strain the raspberries.
