Why You’re Going to Love This Papaya Smoothie Recipe

It’s Thick and Creamy: When you blend papaya with pineapple and milk, the result is a thick and creamy smoothie that has the best texture. The fruit itself has a soft and smooth texture, so it’s perfect for smoothies.

Amazing Tropical Flavor: Papaya tastes like a blend of mango, peach and banana. It’s fruity yet delicate and understated. Mixing papaya with pineapple is the best way to bring out that flavor.

Easy to Make: You only need 4 ingredients and a blender to whip up a fruity smoothie in less than 5 minutes!

Ingredients In The Best Papaya Smoothie

Milk – You have options here! Choose regular milk, plant-based milk, or even water as the base of your smoothie.

Frozen Fruit – This recipe uses frozen papaya pieces and frozen pineapple pieces. You can sometimes find these fruits in the frozen section of your grocery store. Otherwise, cut up fresh fruit, and freeze it overnight first.

Lemon Juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice helps to keep the flavors of the papaya and pineapple bright and fresh.

Homemade Smoothie Tips

Use quality ingredients – When making homemade smoothies, you’ll want to make sure you are using high-quality ingredients for the best outcome.

Use Frozen Fruit – Freezing your papaya and pineapple pieces, or using packaged frozen fruit will mean that you don’t need to add any ice to your smoothie, which will water down the flavor. If your fruit isn’t frozen, you will want to add up to 1 cup of ice cubes.

Adjust the Consistency – If your papaya pineapple smoothie is too thin, blend in a few more pieces of frozen fruit. If it’s too thick, add a little bit more liquid such as water or milk.

Enjoy Right Away – Your smoothie will always be most delicious if you enjoy it directly after blending it up! If you have leftovers, freeze them into popsicle molds and enjoy a tasty treat later.

What to Add To A Papaya Smoothie

Smoothie recipes are meant to be adjusted! You can add anything you like to your Papaya Smoothie to make it more flavorful and nutritious.

Add Ins: I like to add a spoonful of seeds to my smoothies, such as flaxseeds, chia seeds, or hemp hearts. A handful of fresh spinach or kale leaves will also boost the nutritional value.

For a Protein Boost: Use a scoop of your favorite protein powder, or consider adding Greek yogurt, silken tofu, or nut butter to the blender.

Try Other Fruits: Frozen strawberries, bananas, or mangoes would all be delicious in this papaya pineapple smoothie.

Ice Cream To Pair With Smoothies

Fruit smoothies like this one with papaya are delicious, but they are even more amazing with a scoop of ice cream added in!

Adding ice cream to smoothies makes them richer, creamier, sweeter, and more like dessert.

We suggest pairing Pineapple Ice Cream, Mango Ice Cream, or Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with your Papaya Smoothie, or trying one of these other fun and easy homemade ice cream recipes:

The Classics: Frozen Yogurt or No Churn Vanilla Ice Cream

Healthier Options: Sugar Free Ice Cream or Protein Ice Cream

Make it Dairy-Free: Oat Milk Ice Cream, Coconut Ice Cream, or Banana Ice Cream

For a Fun Flavor Variation, try a scoop of Raspberry Sherbet, Watermelon Ice Cream, or Avocado Ice Cream.

  • We love adding a scoop of ice cream or sherbet to our smoothies, but you don’t have to. Some of our favorite ice creams to pair with this papaya smoothie are mango ice cream, vanilla ice cream, and pineapple ice cream.
